50 Scotts Road, Singapore
In 2008, WPP embarked on a master real estate consolidation strategy to assess the benefits of bringing some of the Singapore businesses together within one facility in Singapore. This resulted in a long term lease being entered into on a new office site at 50 Scotts Rd.
The Merx project management office provided the project management services to facilitate the successful completion of this consolidation strategy. To ensure cost effectiveness, we also provided quantity surveyor and cost management services. The initial phase was the relocation of JWT into 25,000ft2 of space on the ground floor which was integrated into the completion of the base build in December 2009. Part of this phase was the design and build of a shared reception linked to a meeting & catered break out area zone at ground floor for each of the business’ use. Subsequent businesses to move into the facility were TNS, Y&R, Wunderman, Bates, Burson-Marstellar and Grey. The vision of the project to create a campus environment that each of the WPP businesses occupy as individually branded entities whilst sharing a combined collaborative space was achieved. Total occupied area is now over 120,000ft2
