Headquartered in Austria since 1895 Swarovski is a renowned global retailer that has 2,800 stores in around 170 countries. Dedicated to delivering extraordinary everyday style to women around the world, the brand launched its ‘New Retail Landscape‘ concept in 2021. It is being rolled out throughout Asia.
Merx, a Savills Company is proud to have been engaged to project manage and deliver the new concept store in Malaysia. The design intent was to bring a modern shopping experience to customers. This meant unique spaces with dazzling designs, luxurious touches, and a range of new technologies, such as interactive displays.
With a tight construction period of just 29 days, our project managers worked with the Swarovski team closely to ensure that the remodel and store updates were completed within the given timeline without compromising quality.
Swarovski’s project included the use of direct vendors for cabinetry, tiles, facade signage and lighting to ensure quality and consistency among their stores in the region. This meant that rigorous tracking of timeline with vendors was necessary due to the large shipment of products from overseas.
To meet these deadlines, our team applied agile project management principles with detailed reporting systems. From aligning the progress of vendors and suppliers, to closely monitoring KPIs, the whole process was in a tight communication loop with all stakeholders.
Swarovski Lalaport’s ‘New Retail Landscape’ concept was successfully handed over to the client on time, on target. The Merx team is confident the project’s success will continue to inspire success for the brand in the country.
